Ivin L McCullough

Plainwell - Irvin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the age of 95. He was born on July 13, 1926. Irvin graduated from Martin High School in 1943. He was employed in the Defense Factory during World War II and served in the Navy. Afterward, he was employed by Valley Metal in Plainwell for several years, before finishing his career as a lab technician at The Upjohn Company. He was always known to enjoy his gardening, crocheting, and was a master candy-maker. Irvin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor (McCaul) McCullough; children, Mark (Lori) McCullough and Cathy (John) Huber; grandchildren, Aaron (Tara) McCullough, Shannon (Matthew) Shook, Heather (Jamie) VanDeHuber, and Justin Huber; great-grandson, Beckett McCullough, another great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces. Irvin is preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Catherine Belle (Newman) McCullough; and siblings, Virgil Lawrence McCullough, Margaret Zoe (Alfred) Warnke, Chester LeRoy (Helen) McCullough, and Mayanna Rose (Warren) Carsten. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church in Orangeville or Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan. Irvin was truly a kind, caring, gentle man who was loved by everyone. His daily prayer was “To keep us ever mindful of the wants and needs of others” - a motto he lived by until the day he died. He will be deeply missed.
